چکیده

Abstract Silica phenyl sulfonic acid (SPSA) was prepared and effectively used in the one‐pot synthesis of 2‐aryl‐1‐arylmethyl‐1H‐1,3‐benzimidazoles from o‐phenylenediamine with aldehydes in water in the presence of tetrabutyl ammonium bromide with good to high yield. Also, SPSA was used as a catalyst for the synthesis of bis(indolyl)methanes in water. J. Heterocyclic Chem., (2011).
