The Catalytic Role of L-Glycine in Organic Reactions
75–96
چکیده
Glycine is the smallest family member of amino acids with no L or D chemical configuration and is synthesized from threonine, choline, and serine. Glycine plays a vital role in growth, development, and good health. In addition, glycine is used as the simplest linker in the modification and coating of nanoparticles’ surfaces. This chapter offers a short review of recent progress in the application of L-glycine and its modified solids as catalysts in organic reactions. The substrate scope, limitation, reaction mechanism, and chemoselectivity, as well as related control strategies of these reactions, are discussed. We believe this chapter would provide useful information on the activity of L-glycine in organic reactions and practical methods for the decoration of L-cysteine on supported material.
