چکیده

L-proline is a nontoxic and inexpensive natural amino acid mainly obtained by hydrolysis of proteins. Protein-rich meals like meat, fish, and dairy are the main sources. Additionally, proline is available as a supplement. Skin healing is aided by proline, particularly in those who have trouble maintaining enough proline levels in their bodies. Proteins made from proline have secondary structures that differ noticeably from open-chain proteins due to the stiff five-membered ring in proline. The traditional use of proline in asymmetric organic reactions is reported. This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of multicomponent reactions that use proline and its derivatives as catalysts. The background knowledge required to further L-proline applications as catalysis, in our opinion, will be provided by this rigorous evaluation.
